Eclectic Yet Modern Home Interior

Full House Renovation, Brampton

Bringing a bold and modern architectural design to our client's newly purchased home.

Our clients wanted a contemporary spin on their builder-grade Brampton home – without relying on a massive budget. We knew that functionality was their top concern, so we approached their full house renovation in layers. We brought in materials and finishes that would complement the function of the space while still making it feel brand new to stay within budget.

The Challenges

COVID-19 Restrictions

With Brampton lockdown restrictions in full effect, it became a challenge to find the finishes we needed as well as get the permits and crews in place to complete our clients' full house renovation. But that didn't stop us!

Even though the permits forced the project to be delayed by a month, we were still able to get creative in how we phased out the construction to keep the delays at a minimum.

COVID-19 may have made the process more challenging, but it didn't affect the quality of the end result!

Building the “Impossible”

We had this grand vision of a massive custom sectional sofa that could seat all of our clients' guests - since they loved to entertain large parties. We were told it was impossible to build what we were trying to achieve, but we refused to take no for an answer!

Through various experiments with cardboard test models, we were able to come up with a way to create a large enough sectional that was both sturdy in build and could still fit through the door. As a final touch, we worked closely with the millworker to detail this perfect custom sectional that would fit seamlessly into our clients' space - using a fabric that was both easily cleanable and had a high thread count so it could withstand heavy use.

Despite the challenges in bringing it to life, we were able to give our clients’ their dream sectional sofa - sure to be loved for many years to come!

The Design Approach

Residential Interior Design & Architecture

Our clients wanted a contemporary spin on their outdated, builder-grade, Brampton home – without relying on a massive budget.

No matter the conditions, creating a balanced and well-designed home is always our priority!

We knew that functionality was our clients' top concern, so we approached their full house renovation in layers - bringing in materials and finishes that would complement the function of the space while still making it feel brand new.

The Concept

For this project, we took lots of inspiration from Moroccan architecture, as our clients loved the simplicity and organic feel of the Moroccan look. We chose a neutral colour palette, light wood tones, and minimalist custom furniture to create a clean, modern, and functional house.

Because both clients work long hours at their restaurant in Toronto, it was important that we provided them with a space that felt relaxing to come home to at the end of a busy day.

The Blueprints

One of the top priorities for our clients was transforming their kitchen into a place they could easily use for entertaining a lot of friends. With this in mind, we designed a kitchen that could allow their company lots of space to sit and still engage with the hosts while they prepared the food and drinks.

The Build

Our main focus for this full house renovation was applying materials and finishes to the interior, rather than the exterior.

We gutted the inside while still honouring the home's architecture - allowing the spaces to flow better. We created a beautiful entryway that our clients could flaunt while still giving them the open concept that they craved.

Walls were demolished, and we added a new powder room and reconfigured the kitchen for added functionality.

All materials and finishes (including millwork and custom furniture) were sourced by us to give our clients' space that perfect, personal touch.

The Final Results

A beautiful, functional, family home that updated the entire look of their house and stayed on budget. Through prioritizing those crucial areas like the kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms, our clients were able to create a space they love while increasing the value of their new Brampton home by $350k!

"I've worked with Jude for almost 3 projects now ... she is super knowledgeable. She pays attention to every minor detail which is what I love about her! I told them how I am expecting the design to be and the output is just perfect! If you’re looking for a residential interior designer, I would definitely recommend them."
